
Lisa Pine is Fellow of the Institute of Historical Research, School of Advanced Study, University of London and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. Her main research interests are the history of Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. She was educated at the London School of Economics and was awarded her PhD from the University of London in 1996. She is the author or editor of nine books, the most recent of which (co-authored with Kees Boterbloem) is Soviet and Nazi Posters: Propaganda and Policies (2025). She is currently editing a new book Food and Food Policies in European Dictatorshipsfor publication by Bloomsbury Academic. She is co-editor (with Peter C. Caldwell) of the book series German History in Focus (Bloomsbury Academic). She has more than 20 years of experience in university lecturing, as well as speaking at public events and international conferences. She has given interviews for many TV programmes and documentary series, including Hitler and the Nazis: Evil on Trial (Netflix), Adolf Hitler: Decoding a Dictator and The Rise of the Dictators. She is host of the new IHR podcast series, A Historian’s Life, and has appeared as a guest on podcasts including BBC History Extra and Real Dictators.
